Overview

This paper re-imagines rural entrepreneurship for the 21st century, challenging the assumption that high-growth venturing is inherently urban. Through the figures of "urban farmers" and "cowboy coders," the paper shows how digital technologies enable new forms of entrepreneurship that transcend traditional geographic constraints while remaining rooted in place-based communities.
